History of Vimal Rani Province

In the great Jubilee Year 2000 a new feather was added to the Sacred Heart Province Ernakulam. The inner vision and requirements, made Resp. Rev. Mother Lambert the Provincial Superior of Ernakulam, to take the first step for the formation of Palakkad Region. The new Region was inaugurated on March 4th 2000 as Vimal Rani. Mar Jacob Manathodath Bishop of Palakkad preside the inaugural function, blessed by the presence of Mother General Rev. Mother Thecla and Provincial Superior Rev. Mother Lambert (EKM). All convents in Palakkad district and Tamil Nadu coming under this region. In the initial stage sincere services were rentered to the region by EKM provincial house. Rev. Sr. Hyginus was the first regional superior, Rev. Sr. Tessy Chamakkala, Rev. Sr. Rosalia Aricatt (councillors) Rev. Sr. Rose Chiramel (Finance offiecer). The regional house was started in an old pickle company with very little facilities. At the starting there are only 5 houses and 35 sisters in the region. The provincial synaxis (December 2000) elected Rev. Sr. Hyginus as provincial councillor in EKM, Sr. Gails was appointed as the 2nd regional superior, Sr. Raphael, Sr. Dometila (Councillors), Sr. Rose Chiramel (Finance officer). During this time the construction of the new house was completed and was blessed by Mar Jacob Manathodath Bishop of Palakkad on November 25th 2003.

The General Synaxis in 2003 decided to raise the Palakkad region to the status of a Province. On 18th February 2004 Palakkad region was officially declared as Vimal Rani Province, the 16th Province of the Congregation by Rev. Mother Stella Maris, the Superior General. Rev. Mother Lambert was elected the first Provincial Superior, Sr. Gails – Vicar Provincial, Sr. Raphael – 2nd councillor, Sr. Dometila – 3rd councillor, Sr. Reena Rose Edassery – 4th councillor, Sr. Salini Vezhaparambil – Finance officer, Sr. Susy Cholenkerry – provincial Secretary. The houses present under this province are (1) Vimala Bhavan Chittoor, (2) Nirmalamatha Kuniamuthur, (3) St. Augustin Adoration Convent Stuttgart (Germany), (4) Adoration Convent Sant’anna Caltagirone (Italy), (5) Corpus Christy (USA) (6) Pavanathma Adoration Convent Palakkad, (7) Sacred Heart Adoration Convent Kuravanpady, (8) Vimal Rani Adoration Convent Mundur, (9) Nirmalamatha Adoration Convent Erode, (10) Amaithy Illam Poomarket (11) Karunya Matha Adoration Convent Podanur. During 2004 to 2006 following convents – Divyakarunya Bhavan Valliyode, Nazrath Care and Support Center Muthukad, Santhome Adoration Convent Malampuzha were started. Team was very much concerned about the poor and needy who are very dear to the Eucharistic Lord. So, a free boarding for school children of Chittoor, a home for the street children – Karunai Illam at Kuniamuthur, a Palliative care centre at Mundur, and HIV aids centre at Muthukad were also opened.

In 2006 Dec. the provincial synaxis reelected Rev. Mother Lambert as Provincial Superior, Sr. Vincentia – Vicar Provincial, Sr. Annie Grace – 2nd councillor, Sr. Alphonsa Pallippatt – 3rd councillor, Sr. Sisy Vazhappally – 4th Councillor, Sr. Salini Vezhaparambil – Finance officer, Sr. Susy Cholenkerry – provincial Secretary.

In 2009 Dec. provincial synaxis elected Rev. Sr. Vincentia as provincial Superior, Sr. Dometila – Vicar Provincial, Sr. Gails – 2nd councillor, Sr. Linsa Attokkaran – 3rd councillor, Sr. Jaya Parekkattil – 4th Councillor, Sr. Vimala Chully – Finance officer, Sr. Teena Chittilappilly – provincial Secretary.

Unfortunately 1 November 2012 Adoration Convent Sant’Anna Caltagirone in Italy which was started on 1984 was closed.

In 2012 Dec. provincial synaxis reelected Rev. Mother Vincentia as provincial Superior, Rev. Mother Lambert – Vicar Provincial, Sr. Annie Grace – 2nd councillor, Sr. Roselin Pulleli – 3rd councillor, Sr. Tincy Mukkumkal – 4th Councillor, Sr. Vimala Chully – Finance officer, Sr. Teena Chittilappilly – provincial Secretary.

It was at this time that a long cherished desire to have a transit house was realised. The convent in the parish of Koodapuzha is really a blessing to the province.

2015 Dec. Rev. Mother Vincentia completed her 2nd term of office, Rev. Sr. Dometila was elected as 3rd provincial Superior, Sr. Linsa Attokkaran – Vicar Provincial, Sr. Annie Grace – 2nd councillor, Sr. Roselin Moothedan – 3rd councillor, Sr. Teena Chittilappilly – 4th Councillor, Sr. Leena Rose Vennikandathil – Finance officer, Sr. Lisa Maria Kanjiramparambil – provincial Secretary.

27 September 2018  Waiblingen community in Germany with three sisters  was raised to a convent. It is known as Holy Spirit Convent.

In 2018 Dec. provincial synaxis elected Rev. Sr. Roselin Moothedan as provincial Superior, Sr. Vincentia – Vicar Provincial, Sr. Roselin Pulleli – 2nd councillor, Sr. Reena Rose Edassery – 3rd councillor, Sr. Elsy Paul Chirackal Manavalan – 4th Councillor, Sr. Leena Rose Vennikandathil – Finance officer, Sr. Lisa Maria Kanjiramparambil – provincial Secretary.

In 2021 Dec.  Provincial synaxis reelected Rev. Sr. Roselin Moothedan as provincial Superior, Sr.Linsa Attokaren – Vicar Provincial, Sr.Leena Rose Vennikandathil – 2nd councillor, Sr.Teena Chittilappilly – 3rd councillor, Sr.Ritty Payyappilly – 4th Councillor, Sr.Salini Vezhaparambil – Finance officer, Sr.Rose Maria Mangattukattil – Provincial Secretary.

At present Vimal Rani Province have 15 houses, 8 in Kerala 4 in Tamil Nadu, 2 in Germany, 1 in Corpus Christy, USA.
