Vimala Bhavan UP School, Chittur
In the under developed forest area of Attappadi mostly comprised with the tribal population, we started a nursery school in the year 1991, which was attached to the convent in a thatched hut with just 6 children. The pioneer teachers were Sr. Annie Paul and Sr. Jaisy Membidikkatt. In 1992 the school was named as Vimala Bhavan LP School and stepped further by starting Class I. Further Rev. Sr. Claver after her retirement took charge of the school. Year by year the school progressed with increase in strength and also addition of class by class. By the year 2002 the LP School upgraded to a fully fledged UP School. The school approved with the permanent recognition in the year 2005. At present the school is functioning with both English and Malayalam medium. The strength of the school has increased to 252 students 19 teachers and 3 non teaching staff.
